About Jamie's Wish
Jamie's Wish is a small family run charity based in West Sussex. Jamie's Wish was an idea that sprung up during the last moments of Jamie Buckfield's life in 2007.
Jamie was diagnosed with a Cancerous Brain Tumour in December 2003. He put up a long and difficult fight against cancer, but sadly lost his battle in June 2007. Jamie was always such a positive, humerous and generous person to be around. His attitude proved inspirational to his family, friends and all that met him. Jamie encountered many uk based charities that helped him either financially, granted him wishes, sent him on holidays, and many other exciting journeys. Jamie had a wish for his family and friends to raise money for charities that help young people fighting Cancer and other life threatening illnesses, just like these charities had helped him.
In 2007, Jamie's Wish organised a fundraising fun day that raised almost £3,000. The money raised was donated to The Joshua Foundation, a charity which Jamie had personally experienced the work of.
Also in 2007, Jamie went to meet Portsmouth FC at their training grounds in Southampton- a dream he had always wished for (see picture below). Everyone there fell in love with Jamie to such a point that Portsmouth FC decided to start their own charity from the inspiration of Jamie and his story. This charity is titled 'We can make dreams come true'. It has featured in local newspapers and on Portsmouth FC website.

In 2008, Jamie's Wish organised another fundraising fun day, this time raising £5,500. This year the money was donated to two charities. We Can Make Dreams Come True received £2,000 (pictured above) and The Joshua Foundation received £3,500. The enourmous and raising success of 2007 and 2008 fundraising fun day events prompted Jamie's Wish to register as a charity. Charity status was granted in February 2008 and Jamie's Wish Trust has only just started to grow.
